Dubai 24 Hours – Dubai Autodrome

Jack Mitchell secured second place in the GTX class at the Dubai 24 Hours, concluding a highly competitive and hard-fought 24-hour contest with Team CMR in the Ginetta G56 GT2.

Starting second in class at Dubai Autodrome, the team quickly established itself at the front of the GTX field. Strong early pace and clean execution through the opening hours allowed the Ginetta to move into the class lead, a position it would hold for most of the race.

Through the night, the car demonstrated both speed and consistency, with all drivers delivering controlled, competitive stints in heavy multi-class traffic. Mitchell completed his longest run of the event at two hours and 26 minutes — just shy of the maximum permitted drive time — extended by multiple Full Course Yellow periods that tested concentration and race management.

After leading the class deep into the race, a mechanical issue in the 21st hour forced an unscheduled stop. The Team CMR crew responded quickly and efficiently to resolve the problem, but approximately 13 laps were lost during the repair. Despite the setback, the car returned to the track and maintained position to the flag, securing second place in class.

While the result came after a late challenge, the performance across the 24 hours underlined the competitiveness of the Ginetta GT2 package, particularly during the cooler night conditions where the car showed strong and consistent pace.

The podium finish capped a resilient effort from the entire team after leading much of the race and demonstrated both speed and determination across one of endurance racing’s most demanding events.
